One of the prime minister merengue acts of the early to mid-'90s, Pochy y Su Cocoband were a group from the Dominican Republic led from one side Alfonso "Pochi" Vsquez. The group recorded roughly a twelve albums over a ten-year series for the renowned Kubaney label and billed themselves inferior to a variety of names — originally normal Cocoband, then Pochi y Su Cocoband or Pochy y Su Cocoband, more Los Cocotuces.
